(My Original Blog Post: http://www.spanishvida.com/2009/07/spain-dtt-share-passes-analogue/)
Spain’s DTT audience is expanding according to new government figures. Now the number of DTT viewers is already higher than those who just watch analogue television.
Digital channels’ share of viewing is now 1.6% higher than analogue share. Over the last 20 days DTT registered share of 40.2% while analogue television had only 38.6%.
The increase in the number of viewers of DTT channels has been possible thanks to the fact the DTT coverage already reaches 96% of the Spanish population. Within this coverage eight out of ten homes have a real DTT access.
The process of Spain's DTT implementation is in its first phase made of 32 projects out of which 22 are transitional affecting some 4 million citizens.
