The National Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man of 69 years of age and of Dutch nationality, who was found dead on his bed, handcuffed and without apparent signs of violence, in his home in Denia (Alicante), according to sources.
The deceased had not been seen since July 23rd, so on Tuesday 28th July, a friend reported his disappearance.
This same friend then attended the home of the deceased, on avenida Joan Fuster de Dénia, accompanied by a locksmith. The locksmith was to gain access to the property. Upon entering the home, they found the dead man lying on his bed, with no apparent signs of violence, but handcuffed. They then alerted the emergency services.
The officers of the Homicide Unit of the National Police have begun investigations to clarify the circumstances surrounding this death, and to identify the causes of death.
